Japanese embroidery on your jeans jacket

SKU#:
v16153

Decorate your jeans jacket with Japanese embroidery. Explore the technique called Sashiko which means ”little stitch”. Find inspiration from Japanese embroidery, originally invented to insulate and repair clothing and combine the country style with intricate designs. Use the embroidery technique on patchwork fabric to refresh clothes. Sew with embroidery floss. Remember to sew with needles that are not too similar in length, as long as the rows are straight.

Also iron a small piece of fabric (with ironed-on vliesofix) onto the cuff. Use a sewing machine to attach the pieces of fabric approx. 3 mm from the edge all the way around.

Divide the embroidery floss in two (each with three threads). Use a long needle to embroider small tacking stitches in a straight line with the embroidery floss, beginning and finished outside the patchwork fabric. Explore with embroidery floss in different colours and shades.
